Annual Cultural Fest “Nakshatra” 2024
“Art is the expression of the soul, and talent is its vehicle.” These words truly capture the essence of the Annual Cultural Fest “Nakshatra” 2024, held from the 9th to the 14th of September by Sacred Heart Girls’ PU College. This week-long fest was a vivid display of student creativity, passion, and skill, with each event embodying the spirit of youthful artistry.
The fest began with a series of off-stage competitions from the 9th to the 11th of September, offering students an opportunity to showcase their unique talents in activities like fireless cooking, mehendi design, creative writing, and even eco-friendly tasks like crafting wealth from waste. The colorful rangoli designs and innovative hairdos reflected not only artistic finesse but also the incredible diversity of ideas on display.
From the 12th to the 14th of September, the action moved to the college auditorium, where the on-stage performances took center stage. The audience was treated to an eclectic array of talent, from soulful singing to dynamic dance performances, as well as gripping mime acts, thought-provoking documentaries, and a vibrant fashion parade. The presence of alumni as judges added an emotional depth to the event, their mentorship boosting the participants’ confidence and evoking fond memories of their own time at the college.
The grand inauguration on the 12th of September featured C. Shubha Rajashekar, a creative entrepreneur, as the chief guest. Her powerful and personal narrative of overcoming early marriage and motherhood to achieve her dreams struck a chord with students, reminding them of the strength it takes to chase one’s aspirations, no matter the obstacles.
Following the chief guest’s heartfelt words, the college’s Principal, Rev. Sr. Janet Sudha, took the stage to address the students. She urged them to dream big, work diligently, and embrace both academic and extracurricular pursuits. Her message was clear: success stems from a balance of dedication to one’s studies and a nurturing of one’s personal passions.
As the fest drew to a close, there was a shared sense of pride and accomplishment. “Nakshatra” had once again proven to be not just a platform for showcasing talent, but a celebration of courage, creativity, and community. It was a week that exemplified the boundless energy and spirit of the students, leaving a lasting impact on all who participated.
Looking back, the fest truly embodied the idea that “Creativity takes courage,” and Nakshatra 2024 was a shining testament to the brave and talented young hearts of Sacred Heart Girls’ PU College.
