Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration
“Elladaru iru, entaadaru iru, endendigu nee Kannadavaagiru.” – “Wherever you are, however you are, always remain a Kannadiga.”
On November 4th, Sacred Heart Girls’ PU College celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava with immense pride and joy. The event began with the hoisting of the National and State Flags, symbolizing unity and respect for our state and nation. Mrs. Jayashree, senior faculty member and Lecturer in Economics, then honored the image of Kannadambe Bhuvaneshwari Devi with a garland as a tribute to Karnataka.
A prayer service followed, invoking blessings for the growth and prosperity of Karnataka. The welcome address and an inspiring speech on Karnataka’s rich culture, heritage, and the beauty of the Kannada language were delivered by Mrs. Kalpana, Lecturer in Kannada, who emphasized the importance of preserving cultural roots and appreciating the legacy of Kannada.
Our beloved Principal, Rev. Sr. Janet Sudha, shared her personal experience of moving to Bangalore without knowing Kannada. She reflected on her journey of learning the language and how embracing Kannada has helped her connect deeply with local culture and the community. Her story encouraged everyone to honor and learn from the rich heritage around us.
The celebration continued with a lively traditional dance performance, showcasing Karnataka’s vibrant spirit, and concluded with the college anthem, bringing everyone together in unity and pride.
“Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate, Jaya He Karnataka Maate” – May we continue to honor Karnataka’s legacy, heritage, and culture through our dedication and efforts.
